The knowledge of field crops, their cultivation and scientific details of each crop is very important for all graduates of Agricultural Universities. Again, it’s equally important to understand National and International issues related to food security, food policies, demand /production, production constraints, better management of natural resources for higher productivity of field crops, to know how the crop is related consumer or industry. Apart from yield, quality also equally essential and factors which enhance the quality of produce. In this book, each chapter is divided into introduction, origin and distribution, composition and uses, climate and soil requirement, cultivars, sowing times, spacing, manures and nutrient requirement and management, water requirement and its management, inter and sequential cropping, pest and disease management, harvesting, yield, post harvesting and storage.
